The “Girl Project” by Just Like My Child

“Empowered girls dramatically improve the wellbeing of their families, their communities, and their countries – multiplying the impact on society.” ~ The Girl Project

I first learned of The “Girl Power” Project – Just Like My Child from founder, Vivian Glyck early 2014. She has created a grass roots program designed to empower young Ugandan girls to have a voice, which includes empowerment training, how to fend off sexual violence, and how to report perpetrators safely and without retribution.    Vivian took the disappointment in her own life of not having children and transformed it into reaching out and caring for other children.  It is an amazing story of transformation for thousands of girls.

Their mission is to transform humanity by empowering women and children to reach their full potential through improved Health Care, Education and Microenterprise.

They are doing great things in Uganda and the lessons learned there could really be applied everywhere.  Just going to their website you can learn a lot about growing up a girl–even today.  This is an inspiring organization, making a difference!  To learn more….
